Danas se sa početkom u 17,00 sati u Hannoveru sastaju desetoplasirana momčad domaćina Hannovera i "zasad" šestoplasirana ekipa Stuttgarta .

Ekipa domaćina sa vrlo promjenjljivom formom za razliku od prvog dijela kada su bili u vrlodobroj formi koja je rezultirala i visokim plasmanom na ljestvici ali nakon samo nekoliko kola u proljetnom dijelu vratili su se u realnost zvana "Zlatna sredina" sa vrlo malim izgledima za Europu ali sa  sa dobrom zalihom bodova za miran nastavak sezone.

Za razliku od njih gostujuća ekipa u nastavku sezone gotovo da briljira jer od zadnjih osam kola su zabilježili čak šest pobjeda jednu neodlučenu i samo jedan poraz i to početkom veljače  kada su ih razbili prvotimci Schalkea sa visokih 4-1.

U dosadašnjem tijeku sezone što se tiče čisto statističkih podataka ekipa domaćina ima skor 9-7-9 uz negativnu gol razliku od -6 (36-42),dok ekipa Stuttgarta ima omjer 13-2-10 sa gol raqzlikom od +4 (44-40).

German champions VfB Stuttgart have turned their season around after a slow start, recently netting six goals against Werder Bremen.
"They weren't German champions last year for nothing. It was only a matter of time until they got going again. And that time is now. They walloped Bremen with really good offensive football. Playing like that is paying off for them", Hanover striker Mike Hanke acknowledges.
Hanke is the most expensive player Hannover have ever acquired. But last weekend, he lost control of himself. When Duisburg's Iulian Filipescu provoked him, Hanke forgot his good upbringing, and soon he was seeing red. That means the star striker will miss the Stuttgart showdown.

"We weren't playing against some simple country team. They're the German champions. There's no question they're going to go on the attack sometimes. But I think we played a great game, considering we were away. We had lots of goal-scoring chances and played really good football. I don't think you can always expect that from a team on the road", Hanke recalls.

Stuttgart have once-injured or suspended players back just in time to battle for a top5-finish, but Stuttgart's hopes of repeating their title victory are not so bright.
"VfB Stuttgart should always set a standard for themselves of making it into international play. We're fighting for that and working for it. But it can't always work out the way you want, when so many things happen like what's happened to us. The most important thing for us is to have the team intact, because then we have a really good team. Then we'd be on top again. This year has been a bit difficult", VfB coach Armin Veh says.
Gomez on a great run
Mario Gomez is Stuttgart's scoring sensation. The 22-year old just keeps on scoring. At the moment he's netted 15 goals in 19 games, making him the league's second-highest scorer. And in midweek he bagged another brace for Germany in Switzerland.

Trener Hannovera Hecking odlučio je da promijeni taktiku, pa će tako umjesto sa samo jednim napadačem, utakmicu  započeti sa dva napadača Hashemianom i Steinerom  pošto je njihov najbolji golgeter Hanke pocrvenio u prošlom susretu na gostovanju kog Duisburga.
Takođe problem za trenera predstavljaju i ozljede zbog kojih neće moći da računa na Tarnata,Yankova,Krebsa,Hahnea i Rosenthala   .
Trener Stuttgarta će i ovaj put u napad gurnuti strašni napadački dvojac Cacau–Gomez . U središnjem dijelu terena će ordinirati Basturk i Hitzlsperger ,dok će u obranu upasti  Bokai koji će zamijeniti ozlijeđenog Magnina . Zbog ozljeda ovaj duel će propustiti i Perchtold ,Schuster,Tasci i Fischer.
